Xinyi Glass Donates HK$1 Million in Support of The Hong Kong Fujian Charitable Education Fund * * * Helps Out-of-school Children Return to School Promotes Development of Elementary Education in Mainland China

(Hong Kong, 25 February 2021) – Xinyi Glass Holdings Limited (“Xinyi Glass” or the “Group”) (stock code: 00868), a leading integrated automobile glass, energy-saving architectural glass and high-quality float glass manufacturer, has donated HK$1 million to The Hong Kong Fujian Charitable Education Fund, reflecting its support to the building of “Hope Primary Schools” (希望小學) in Mainland China and providing financial assistance to poor students as the Group expresses its concern and support to the education in China.


Dr LEE Yin Yee, B.B.S., Chairman of Xinyi Glass, said, “Xinyi Glass has constantly adhered to its core values: ‘trust, integrity, passion and care’ since its inception. For more than 30 years, the Group has actively participated in various charitable and donation activities in different ways as it gives back to society. Xinyi Glass has treasured its employees as a valuable asset even as it constantly demonstrated its care and concern for their children as well. As the saying goes, ‘knowledge is power’. We have set up the ‘Xinyi Education Fund’ to offer support for the education of the children of our employees. We have also provided additional paid leave and educational support for their children, as well as kept a close eye on employees and their family members in need. Similarly, we wish to convey our care and concern for poor children in Mainland China through The Hong Kong Fujian Charitable Education Fund so they can have access to education which will enable them to improve their living and empower them to strive for upward mobility. In the future, the Group will continue collaborating with different sectors in society so as to offer assistance to needy people through various channels so they can keep pace with society and achieve progress.”


The Hong Kong Fujian Charitable Education Fund is a non-profit charitable organization initiated in 1994 by a group of young Fujianese entrepreneurs in Hong Kong, who are enthusiastic supporters of education and charities. Its objectives include improving the education needs and condition of poor Mainland children and promoting the development of elementary education through the establishment of “Hope Primary Schools”; connecting and uniting people in all sectors in Hong Kong to fuel their concern and support for education in China, with the aim of nurturing talent in the home country and benefiting society, as well as contributing to the attainment of the goal of thrusting China to the stature of a wealthy and powerful country.
